James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli says the next installment in the series will be a “re-invention” of the character. Deadline managed to interview the producer outside an event honoring her work in the arts. Broccoli explained that the next James Bond movie is two years or more away from filming. Fans may take this news either really well or get frustrated with this recognition. However, 007’s team tries to get all the ducks in a row after that No time to die. Daniel Craig never walks through that door again. Therefore, there must be some new blood in this role, regardless of who it might end up being. As social media often does, fans are starting to fantasize about their choices of who should wear a tuxedo next. Some want to see them go with Tom Hiddleston, others would like Idris Elba to get a chance. Also came Tom Hardy and Holland. But, there is nothing specific at this moment.
“Nobody’s in the running,” she revealed. “We’re working out where we’re going, talking about it through. There’s no script and we can’t come up with a single script until we decide how we’re going to deal with the next movie because, really, it’s a reinvention of Bond. We’re reinventing his identity and that takes time. I’d like To say we are at least two years away from filming.”
A recent interview with Variety saw Daniel Craig explain how much he doesn’t enjoy contracts. At the end of his tenure as 007, he pushed for the character’s fate to be decided at the end No time to die.

She said yes.’ So I made a pact with her at the time and said, “This is the way I would like it to go.” It’s the only way I could see for myself ending everything and to make it that way was my term, someone else could come in and take over. .she stuck to her guns.”
